Below is the expanded version of Jennifer’s campaign statement which will be printed in November’s sample ballot. Jennifer wants our residents to know exactly where she stands. She will not compromise her vision for Vacaville, regardless of what others expect from her.
STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR MEMBER OF CITY COUNCIL
As a Vacaville resident, you deserve better.
Our city is growing and our resources dwindling. We have fewer officers on the street and our tax dollars are maxed out by bloated administrative budgeting.
Vacaville was once a close-knit community promising its citizens safety, comfort and quality of life, but these ideals are quickly fading.
You decide: We can add more corporate chains and become just another cookie-cutter city–moving further from what make us unique–or we can invite and support local entrepreneurs to grow their businesses on Main Street so we can focus on retaining our charm and identity.
You decide: We can approve more cramped housing developments–further straining public safety resources–or we can focus on improving our existing neighborhoods, allowing for smarter growth at a more balanced pace.
In my role as commissioner, I am keenly aware of what Vacaville offers to those who choose to live here. Right now, our residents are not represented by city council. I want to preserve and promote what makes us great: Our history, our quality of life and, most importantly, our people.
I get it. I’ve experienced life elsewhere and like you, I choose Vacaville. Isn’t it time that our interest is also represented?
I envision an inviting community with a transparent, responsive government. I believe in better, and so should you. Let me be your voice.
